Georgian National Museum Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery was hosted exhibition of the cultural heritage of the Georgian Jews and presentation of the catalogue dedicated to the following exhibition.  In multicultural Georgia the Jewish Diaspora is one of the most ancient. Our country is that exception where Jews were never pursued but had friendly relations with the native population. Continuation of this tradition in the future is very important.

On the exhibition, there were presented unique exhibits of the Jewish culture, which were exposed in the Jewish Museum situated in Tbilisi. After closing of the Museum its collection was shared with other museums - including Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia and Ioseb Grishashvili Tbilisi History Museum. Up to 200 exhibits were presented at the exhibition, the considerable part of which will be put on display for the first time. Simultaneously with the exhibition there will be organized presentation of the catalogue "The Cultural Heritage of the Georgian Jews". Catalogue include unique collection and results of scientific researches of the last period.

The project was supported by the embassy of Israel in Georgia and the Ministry of Culture and Monument protection of Georgia.
